Rick Levine is the Chief Engineering Officer at Modus where he helps clients navigate the complex and ever-changing waters of the modern digital technology landscape. As a company founder and leader of the diverse technology team at Modus, Rick serves as a connector and facilitator at the point where strategy, design and development teams converge.
Rick draws on twenty years of experience harnessing the power of digital technologies, including as founder of Bootsoft, a firm that specialized in the development and continuous improvement of complex business systems, which he led as CEO for 17 years.
Rick also co-founded and led podcasting technology company Sonibyte, where he developed groundbreaking podcast systems for publishers like WIRED, Time, Kiplinger’s, and Discovery Magazine. Rick has played critical roles in the development of initial web platforms for clients including Johnson & Johnson, Hasbro, and The White House, and has helped clients like Microsoft, John Hancock and Insight Electronics bring critical business-engineering projects to completion.
A graduate of Duke University, where he earned a degree in computer science, Rick is also founder of online real estate search and collaboration platform CoopSnoop.

Kristen brings over 20 years of award-winning creative and business leadership to her work at Modus, including more than a decade developing new products, services and user experiences for the web.
In addition to co-founding Modus, Kristen has led some of the industry’s most acclaimed creative teams at Young & Rubicam’s Brand Dialogue group, Luminant Worldwide Corporation and Braincraft Technologies where she advised brands including Wyndham Hotel Group, NYSE Euronext, Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation, NBC Universal, Morgan Stanley & Co., AT& T, Dow Jones & Company, United States Army, Fisher Price, Pfizer, Showtime, Sony and Xerox.
Her work has been published in Graphis Books’ DesignAgencies.com and has received awards from the Webby Awards, the Web Marketing Association, the W3 Awards, the London International Advertising Awards, Creative Summit Awards and the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.
Kristen is a member of the American Association of Graphic Arts, Customer Experience Professionals Association and the User Experience Professionals Association.

Graham is a UX strategist and writer who has been advising clients on how to create simple yet powerful digital products for the last 18 years. His work focuses on defining the point of intersection between customer needs and business goals, and creating digital experiences that satisfy both.
Prior to Modus, Graham was Creative Director of Content and IA at Sullivan, where he developed award-winning work for Schwab, MetLife, Fidelity, Bessemer Trust, Ameriprise, Better Homes & Gardens and Disney. He was also Director of Customer Experience at JP Morgan Chase, and, prior to that, Senior Information Architect and Writer at Siegel+Gale.
Graham writes and lectures extensively, presenting his popular seminar “Write Gooder” to communications students and professionals across the country. His writing has appeared in industry blogs, white papers and publications, including Booz Allen’s Strategy and Business.
Graham graduated from Vassar College, where he studied English Literature and classical guitar.
Partner, Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Jay heads up global operations at Modus. A leader in the use of technology to enhance business operations, Jay has helped develop and integrate tools to drive efficient, transparent workflow and communications for Modus, including client and vendor interactions.
With a background spanning all layers of project direction, from account and project management to business analysis, data science, and technical architecture, Jay contributes strategic innovation to solve complex business problems.
Jay leads the Modus Labs program which has launched a number of products including CoopSnoop, a real estate search collaboration platform, BreadBox, a team estimation and prioritization tool and Modivate, a team-based fitness tracking program with advanced visualization and storytelling. He also co-founded the podcasting technology company SoniByte—where he helped develop the platform and launch key clients including Time, WIRED, Kiplinger’s and Discover Magazine.
Jay serves on the Board of Directors of the Oblong Land Conservancy and Pawling Farmers Market, as well as the Pawling Town Planning Board.

Michael works closely with clients to align our work with their short- and long-term business goals. Serving as a trusted advisor to client, Michael ensures Modus is delivering what they need and when they need it, in a way that makes their jobs easier.
A technology and business strategist with over 15 years of experience, Michael has led product initiatives from the initial ideation, design, development and launch for clients across sectors like hospitality, financial services, real estate, education, nonprofit, and government.
Joining the Modus team in 2004, Michael brought to the company a reputation for excellence in product design and management, with a particular focus in the financial services industry. Starting his career at Baseline Financial Services, Inc., which was acquired by Thomson Financial, Michael worked within the Client Services, Product Design, and Product Management groups, affording him a unique understanding of how technology can help companies improve customer satisfaction, revenue and profitability.
Michael, who graduated from Middlebury College with a degree in Economics and a Minor in English, serves on the Board of Advisors of cloud communications company Twilio.
As SVP of Operations, Kristina ensures that Modus teams have the systems and resources they need to efficiently build and continuously improve client products. Over a 20-year-long career, Kristina has worked as a database architect, analyst, programmer and account manager in sectors including regional planning, finance, and real estate.
Since joining Modus in 2002, Kristina has led numerous database, data warehouse and data integration projects. She spearheaded Modus’ shift from Waterfall to Agile product development, increasing its nimbleness and productivity. Kristina originally built and managed the Modus QA team, including its processes and methodologies, and directly oversees the operations of the company’s New York, Argentina, and the Philippines offices. She also is the Engagement Manager for one of Modus’s key financial clients, Pay-O-Matic.
Kristina is passionate about girls gaining serious technology skills, and volunteers with Girls Who Code, Brooklyn Robot Foundry, and Girl Develop It.
Kristina graduated from Clark University with a degree in Geography and a heavy focus on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Urban Planning.
